LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) – The UISD superintendent of schools Roberto J. Santos accepted a check in the amount of $5,475 from SM Energy representatives.
David Canales, the executive director for middle school instruction says they are very fortunate that SM Energy provided a check to help them with the STEM program.
The money will go towards helping middle school kids to get more exposure in the science and math field.
UISD also wants to prepare its students for future careers and embracing the 21st century skills.
The district is also thinking about using the money to help kids through supplies equipment and robotics.
Canales says, “We’re just very grateful for SM Energy for considering us as their educational partner where we can build our future and our kids.”
