An Express-Bot (The First Mindstorm Robot) has just been built to perform tasks using the NXT programming functions and test mat. The Water Cycle Models and Infiltration Lab helped introduce the students to the importance of water in Texas. The Nature Walk activity, the Systems Sorting game and the Systems Models enabled the students to understand how systems work and how they can be represented in the real world. What better way to start off the SAYS Program – an academic summer program for 4thand 5th Grade students that stresses the development of systems thinking and problem solving skills. It also exposes students to the Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) curriculum and careers. It creates an environment where students are encouraged to learn, explore, achieve, discover, and maybe get a little head start on the upcoming school year. Great job SAYS students!
