SAN ANTONIO – The South Texas Energy and Economic Roundtable (STEER) today extended the deadline for nominations to October 1, 2020 for its annual Eagle Ford Excellence Awards, which honor the companies, organizations and partnerships that work to keep South Texas strong.

STEER Executive Director Stephanie Moreno said, “Even during a global pandemic, the oil and natural gas industry in South Texas continues investing in innovation and technology to produce oil and natural gas to meet demand while maintaining high environmental standards and providing for the communities where they operate.” 

“Investments in innovation and technology have allowed companies in the Eagle Ford Shale to meet demand in cleaner, more efficient ways than ever before,” Moreno continued. “And this industry’s commitment to South Texas communities doesn’t end there. The oil and natural gas industry is working to make a positive impact through intentional investments and partnerships that aim to better the people and communities where we operate in South Texas. The Eagle Ford Excellence Awards is our way of recognizing the companies, organizations and communities that will continue to strengthen South Texas for decades to come.”

Award categories include:

Community and Social Investment, which recognizes both a small and a large entity that are working with communities to make a positive impact to the social fabric of the local area.

Environmental Stewardship, which recognizes both a small and a large entity that are making it their duty to preserve the environment in a responsible manner.

Neighborhood Impression, which honors one or multiple organizations that have implemented a community project demonstrating the positive impression of the industry on the community.

Innovation in Technology, which recognizes a leading organization in the Eagle Ford area that has developed a technology that is resulting in improvements to the region in economic and environmental ways.
